A call for ideas - interview

This is for an interview on Monday 17th October. I thought I'd turn to my Twitter followers for a few ideas before setting about preparing resources and a lesson plan. What you read below, is exactly the context I have been provided with. It is for a Design Technology lesson.

Topic:
Making a picture puzzle in acrylic with a plywood frame.

You will be teaching a one hour lesson to year 7 students.

The students have chosen their theme.

They have developed a series of ideas based on this theme and selected their chosen design which most closely fits the design brief requirements.

They have produced a series of drawings based on the theme. These have been done both freehand and using CAD Adobe Illustrator.

Students have also done the making skills required for the construction of the base and frame.

This has been done in both theory and practice.

The next step which needs to be delivered through the lesson is the use of colour.

1. The lesson objective will be for the students to learn about the properties of primary, secondary and complimentary colours in relation to the design of childrens’ toys and puzzles.

2. Students will be able to select suitable colour schemes for their chosen theme and the materials available for construction (students will use blue acrylic as their main colour and then they may use either yellow, red or green. The acrylics are all translucents.).

End.
I look forward to reading the magic of Twitter.
